Works well - fixed one problem it had

In reading some of the other reviews, I see many complaining about the lid. I had the same issue with the plastic part falling out and then the plastic ring not staying put and the filters falling out. Both problems were easily fixed - a little Krazy Glue (for crafts) made the top piece of plastic stick and stick well, with no more problems. ...and some thin pieces of velcro are now holding the plastic ring onto the other plastic part, so it can be easily removed when I need to change filters. I agree that these issues should have not happened. There's a fault in the design. However, now that they are fixed, the container is wonderful - attractive and useful. It's easy to keep clean because of the inner plastic pail and unbreakable, which are two features that caused me to choose this over the ceramic and stainless steel types.

My friend warned against porcelain because her lid broke. Metal looked too harsh. found this bamboo pail and nobody can is the wiser. a little pricey but worth it. easy on the eyes, decorative enough to blend into the kitchen. light weight for easy emptying and natural looking! what's not to like. compost away!!


Broken Lid

While this is a very "clean" looking compost pail, I have to say that the lid is pretty faulty. The plastic ring that holds the filters in place no longer sticks to the lid. Each time I lift the lid, the ring sticks to the pail and the filters fall right out. I emailed RSVP International about this problem. Pretty soon I will probably look into buying a new compost pail - one that is more durable than this.


Great compost pail

I've owned this pail for 2 months now and still love it. It's large enough for our family of two people who love to cook that we only fill it up 2-3 times per week. A dishwasher-safe, removable insert makes taking out the compost easy. The replaceable charcoal filter in the lid keeps all the odors down - I have never smelled anything coming from the pail, even the couple times where we've left it too long and it does smell with the lid off! Looks great on the counter and has a small enough footprint that it's easy to keep anywhere.


It's pretty...and pretty useless

I'd venture to guess that anyone giving this product a 5-star review hasn't owned it for very long. While it is beautiful to look at, and bamboo is one of Earth's most renewable natural resources, this pail is a waste of money. It is composed of narrow strips of bamboo glued together, meaning there are plenty of seams just waiting to burst. For my pail, that took about two months of light use. Suddenly, one of the seams separated, and it's extremely difficult to glue back together properly. Also, the plastic holding the charcoal filter against the bottom of the lid broke free after about two or three weeks, so every time I lift the lid, the filter falls out.



In this instance, bamboo is not the better choice. Do yourself a favor and buy stainless steel. What good is a renewable resource if it winds up in the landfill after minimal use?

The Whitmor set of two collapsible cubes was perfect for us! One cube was used for my son's recording project. He took the cube, placed soundproofing foam on the interior, and created his own soundproof cubicle for a microphone he uses for foley editing.



The second cubicle is kept in my car for carrying items back and forth.

The cubes are a snap to setup and tear down. They are decently strong, but I would avoid carrying anything heavy in them. Great for stationary storage, or in my case, a portable voiceover booth.

My dirt devil vacuum cleaner was slowly dying because I was never able to find a new perma filter until I found this one on Amazon. I was so happy to find this. Now my Dirt Devil cleaner runs so much better. Buying a new filter is much better and cheaper than buying a whole new machine. I bought an extra one too!

This filter was hard to find. I have a dirt devil upright bagless. I guess they change the model shortly after I had purchsed this. All the other filters were tappered smaller at the top. Mine is the same size top to bottom. This was a very hard filter to find. I plan on buying two more as spares. You really need to look at the pictures to be sure you are gettig the correct filter.

I was sent the wrong filter and it did not fit my dirt devil. I had to throw out the filter. It said it was made for the dirt devil vision lite, and it did not fit at all. I will not make any further purchases

I live in Georgia and in the summer, a normal fridge could not keep up with the increased ambient temp. I bought the above fridge and it is wonderful. It matches the garage as well. I highly recommend this fridge and Amazon had the best overall price with shipping.


Just the answer for a garage fridge

Since I was using a much older refrigerator in my garage, I didn't know there would be a problem putting a new one in the garage until after I went through all the trouble of buying a fridge, having it checked out becasuse it was cooling properly and then being told it wouldn't operate properly in temperatures below 55 degrees without modifying it. I returned that one!

The Chillerator is exactly what I was looking for. Its been a cold winter in the Northwest and it operates just as advertized; no problems when its in the 40s in the garage. Nice "garage" design too.
